Makeup Forever has launched some pretty spectacular products this Spring. Including a Smoky Stretch Mascara, two new Lipstick Shades with 50% more pigment than traditional lipstick formulas with pearly golden and copper pink tones…Gorgeous! Also launched is the Pro Sculpting Duo and Skin Equalizers which I will be reviewing today 🙂
Makeup Forever Pro Sculpting Duo ~ $45.00 CAD
The new Makeup Forever Pro Sculpting Duo’s are a unique, talc free, gel powder formula allowing for a remarkable natural look that blends seamlessly for a weightless sculpting effect.
The formula contains skin-enhancing ingredients, to smooth and perfect the skin for a silky, radiant, naturally defined finish.
Available in two shades, Light with cool undertones and Tan with warm undertones.
REVIEW
The color I have reviewed is the Pro Sculpting Duo #2. It is the Tan color, also known as “golden”. The Highlight is a beautiful golden color that I will in fact use on my cheek bones for everyday wear. It compliments perfectly with shades of peach blush, and/or lipstick in the orange family. In fact, blending the colors together makes for a very beautiful blush on its own.
This isn’t your typical contouring palette. It doesn’t have the usual gray undertones to create that natural shadow effect. On that note, I wouldn’t go slathering this on to your entire face for a full contoured look because you will be sorry. Both colors in the palette have a shimmering quality, with the highlighter being much more pronounced of course. So be careful not to over do it. Gently contour and highlight as pictured above and you will be amazed at the luxurious results. I won’t be using this as my every day contour palette of choice but I will definitely be sporting it for every special occasion as it makes my face incredibly radiant.
This gel powder formula is like nothing I have felt before. It is so finely milled it almost feels like a cream. So incredibly smooth to the touch. With that said, there is no concern of looking powdery or cakey with this powder.
I love this palette as it brings a different approach to your basic contouring. A must have in any makeup arsenal.
Makeup Forever Step 1 Skin Equalizer ~ $43.00 CAD
Mix and Match your primers to create a unique blend that is suited just for you and your skin concerns! These innovative Primers are divided into two categories, texture and tone. Five of the Step 1 Equalizers are designed to address texture related concerns such as, oil and shine, large pores, fine lines, dryness and redness. The other five primers in the collection, the radiance (tone) range, will boost radiance based on your specific skin tone.
Formulated with Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate and firm, along with other skin benefiting ingredients to help the skin appear more even and smooth and to promote long lasting makeup coverage.
REVIEW
I have tried many, many, primers. I have oily skin I am always on the hunt for the next best thing to keep my face oil free all day. When I heard that Makeup Forever was coming out with this new line of primers, the Skin Equalizers, I was super stoked as I consider the brand to be one of the best. With that said, it also creates high expectations from my point of view.
I chose the Mattifying primer to see if it would stack up to my expectations from an oily girl that wishes to be normal! (Normal skin type that is) No one wants to be ‘normal’, that’s just boring 🙂
The texture of this Primer is creamy when dispensed but quickly turns liquidy once applied to the face. A definite change from other thick and sticky primers that seem to sit on your face rather than be absorbed.
It certainly boasts well for this line considering all of its skin benefiting claims, since it actually makes its way into your skin!
It absorbed very quickly and was now time to apply my foundation. For the purpose of this review I of course used my HG Makeup Forever HD foundation and the results were amazing! I found that blending my foundation was effortless which made for a far more natural look. Immediately I could see the mattified effect and as the day progressed, I was thrilled to see that my face was still shine free!
To all my shiny friends…You need this Primer!
I will definitely be picking up the Smoothing and Yellow Skin Equalizer next time I am at Sephora. I can’t wait to see what the results would be when used together.

It appears pretty shiny? I would be worried about appearing too flashy for my day look.

I’ve tried the MUFE Smoothing Primer recently and….Oh My Word! It is quite thick but sinks into all of those pores and fine lines, leaving you with an almost airbrushed finish! Never used it under a CC cream or foundation….just always on it’s own. Must try it as an actual primer soon 🙂 Fabulous post!

I have the Pore minimizing primer from smashbox and take it from me…there is no comparison. The Smashbox primer is very heavy. The MUFE is so light on your skin and yet does a remarkably better job 🙂

Wow, I have super oily skin! I’ve been on the hunt for my HG primer. Thanks for the review, you may have convinced me to snag this next time I’m at Sephora. I was also debating on picking up the new Pore Minimizing primer from Smashbox.
