Benefit Roller Lash Mascara Review

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

A mascara that super-curls allowing you to ditch your Eyelash Curler! Sound too good to be true? Keep reading to find out!

Let me start by letting you know that there is a particular application technique that Benefit Cosmetics recommends in order to get the most curl out of the Roller Lash Mascara.
Starting at the base of your lashes, you want to first wiggle the wand from the base of your lashes to the tips. Now starting back at the bottom of the lash line, hook your lashes and roll the wand in a upward motion until you hit the tips.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara Review

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara ~ $29.00CAD

I actually really like the Roller Lash Mascara. It is easily buildable as it does not dry too quickly allowing you to create either a natural or dramatic look. I’m not a fan of “rolling” the wand…and when I tested it with or without rolling, there was no difference. So I would suggest to save yourself some hassle and time and simply apply as you would with any other mascara.

As much as I like the Roller Lash Mascara, I wouldn’t say that it replaces an eye lash curler. It is a great mascara, don’t get me wrong, but there is nothing ‘special’ about it. I would compare it to the Lancôme Hypnose Drama mascara. With the difference being that only one coat of the Lancôme Mascara is needed to create a dramatic look where the Benefit Roller Lash would require a few extra passes to achieve the same appeal.

I am happy with my purchase, as I find this mascara is quite versatile depending on the look you are going for. But please girls, don’t expect this mascara to preform a miracle…it is in fact, just a mascara.

Oh ya, one more thing…the roller lash mascara is much more easily removed than the Lancôme mascara as well as Benefits top selling mascara, “They’re Real.”
I really like that because I HATE having to struggle to remove mascara as the eye area is so delicate I never want to be too aggressive with it.

  1. Hi. Glad you have been so honest about the mascara! I was thinking about getting it as coming to the end of my current one (Maybelline Great Lash in Blackest Black), but think I will stick to my favourite False Lash Effect by Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) in Black. Have you tried the YSL one??

    • I can honestly say that I have not tried any YSL mascaras! I do believe I have samples of almost every mascara made so maybe there is one in the pile…I will check it out! Thanks for the tip! 🌟

      • Ha. No problem. It really does what it says. In one stroke it gives you a great dark lash and you instantly look like you have more lashes. Love it. It comes off well too. Doesn’t dry too quick. Also people who wear contact lenses (like me) get on better with it as it doesn’t contain the ‘bits’ that latch onto the lashes that other mascaras do to create the fuller look. Hope that helps. I sound like a nerd, but just cant get enough of my makeup! XxX

  2. hmmm might be worth a second look then i guess, i have to admitt that i never even tried a lash curler and besides the maybe 10 different mascaras in my entire life i dont take much care of my lashes anyways (falsies every day off work explains why: i only need a mascara to make my lashes blend into the huge falsies…) but maybe it would not hurt to have a nice one for working days?

  4. I have heard a lot of mixed reviews about this mascara but it seems to work well. The brush looks a lot like Maybelline’s Lash Sensational. 🙂

  5. I haven’t tried Rollerlash. I did see Wayne Goss apply it on YouTube though. He got quite a lash from it after a good 4-5 applications of it. LOL. I have tried They’re Real. It is now in a land fill along with the makeup remover in that line. I wish I could find a mascara that isn’t clumpy, separates perfectly and I’m totally willing to curl my lashes. I just need something to hold the curl.

  6. I felt the same way, I posted before and after pics and honestly, there was minimal difference. I do really like to layer it with smashbox full exposure. It makes two mascara I don’t love into one that is epic!

  7. I’ve never tried the Lancome mascara, but I LOVE Roller Lash! I feel like it’s actually really different from my other mascaras and curls really well, but then again maybe my lashes are just more easily curled, lol. Great review! 🙂
