It was like Christmas in July! A couple weeks ago I attended this amazing beauty event hosted by London Drugs and sponsored by 17 beauty brands that they carry. Each brand set up with their own station to introduce their new and/or upcoming products. Each brand provided press samples for us invitees to take home!! Keep reading to find out which products stood out to me the most and a little more on the event itself.
As I arrived at the London Drugs Beauty Event, I signed in and was handed a pass with my name and website on it. I guess they didn’t want any party crashers! I could see why with all the loot being offered 🙂 I was also given this Ginormous blue bag to fill up as I made my way from station to station.
At the front was a full bar…first stop! haha. They were offering a signature drink, I can’t remember the name of it but it was very tasty and it was smoking with dry ice so I had to try it!!
Now it was time to hit up each brands station. The Beauty Brands that were in attendance are listed below:
The first station I approached was Remington. Truth is, I hit my head getting out of my car and screwed up my hair! 😦 I asked the lovely people at Remington if the could secure my bobby pins for me as they dangled from my head. They kindly obliged and within seconds I was back on my feet! Thank guys 🙂
Remington was showcasing their new line the PROtect Styling Collection. Featuring a Hair Dryer and a Straighter. The straightener, which I got to take home with me is really cool! It is made with Vapor Infusion Technology allowing micro-vapor to absorb into the hair four times faster than steam. It comes with this Macadamia Conditioning Treatment that you put right into the straightener it self and it infuses into your hair as you straighten for maximum protection!
I have been using this straighter every day since I got it!! I am LOVEING IT!! I find my hair is so much softer and silkier, I just can’t say enough good things about it.
Another cool tool I was excited to get was the Silk’N Sonic Clean Plus! A deep cleaning brush that gently removes 6x more dirt and makeup than hands alone.
NYX was there with a ton of products on display. However, there main focus was on a few select products as pictured below. The black shadow base and V’amped up lip top coat are really neat products that can transform the original color of shadow and lipstick into a deeper more vibrant color. I have been having a lot of fun playing around with these.
A couple of the booths were showcasing their newest mascaras. Each one with a different formula to create looks from, a spiked finish, %400 more volume, as well as an eye awakening formula.
Miss manga Rock by L’Oreal, The Super Sizer by Covergirl, Lift Me Up Mascara by Rimmel.
By far, for me the most exciting product I came across was at the Neostrata table…they now have a Glycolic Acid line!! I love Glycolic acid Skincare. As an adult with oily skin, it really helps keep pimples at bay and fights the signs of aging at the same time. So what’s the big deal? Well, proper glycolic acid skincare is impossible to find in Canada so I have been paying an arm and a leg to get it shipped in from the states. The fact that I can take a quick trip to my local London Drugs and pick this up is amazing news!!
I have definitely been putting all my new products to good use, trying them all out and creating different looks. Here is one of many 🙂
