If you are anything like me then staring down the aisles of the drugstore can get pretty overwhelming, pretty quickly. How are you supposed to choose which products are right for you with so many options?! So to make things easier on all of us, I have broken down the barriers of endless choices and created a quick go-to list for face cleansers. Which type of face washes you should be using for your skin type and concerns.
Cleanser For Sensitive Skin/Dry Skin
If you have sensitive skin you definitely want to stay away from cleansers with too many harsh ingredients. The less ingredients, the more likely you will be able to steer clear of any irritation.
Cleansing Milks are a great option. Not only are they super gentle on your skin but they dissolves makeup and dirt effortlessly leaving your skin soft and non-greasy with light hydration.
NeoStrata® has a fabulous All-in-One Cleansing Milk that won’t clog pores, is non-irritating, alcohol free, paraben free and soap free. It contains Avocado butter to hydrate and .25% Celldetox, a plant extract, that reinforces the cell by skin detoxification process to improve skin radiance. Plus, there is no need to rinse with this cleaning milk. You apply with a cotton puff and gently wipe away the day.
Cleanser For All skin Types
I love Glycolic Acid. I have mentioned it many times before for its ability to keep the skin clear, smooth and helps keep wrinkles and fine lines at bay. The none drying Cleansing Foaming Water by NeoStrata® is perfect for those with Combination Skin as it contains 2% Glycolic acid to purify and gently exfoliate while remaining gentle enough for even those with sensitive skin to use. It is also formulated with Pro-vitamin B and cucumber extract to provide hydration and soothing benefits.
Cleanser For Oily Skin
For those with oily skin, a stronger bout of Glycolic Acid can be used to remove built up of oil, dead skin cells and help clear out pores. The NeoStrata® Oil Free Cleanser contains 4% Glycolic Acid and will not only cleanse your face but also the NeoStrata® Oil Free Cleanser with 4% Glycolic Acid will help to clean skin prone to blackheads and dilated pores.
What I love about this Cleanser is that it doesn’t suck the life out of my skin. As an oily girl I find a lot of cleansers for oily skin can be far too drying which in turn makes your skin produce even more oil to replace what was lost. I didn’t find that at all with this product. It works amazingly giving me a deep clean without stripping my face of its natural goodness 🙂
Cleanser For All Skin Types
We have all heard of Micellar Water by now and I have been a major fan girl since I first started using it over a year ago. I use it every night prior to cleansing to remove my makeup and anything else that is lingering on my face. I guess I feel that this pre-wash routine I do helps my cleanser make better contact with my actual skin allowing it to do its job a little better. However, Micellar Waters aren’t meant as a pre-wash and are perfectly capable of cleaning your face just as well as a traditional cleanser.
NeoStrata® has recently launched a Detoxifying Micellar Gel that has taken this miracle water to the next level. Its unique gel form melts onto the skin, removing any trace of makeup and daily grime. The NeoStrata® Detoxifying Micellar Gel also contains 0.25% Celldetox setting it apart from other brands on the market today.
Never tried NeoStrata. I’m hooked on Mary Kay skin care products!!

After years of struggling to find the right facial cleanser I finally settled on Simple brand foaming face wash. I love it, its perfect for my leaning toward oily skin type. I also use their moisturizer. I do not care for their creamy facial cleanser

I use a cleanser with little beads in it. I am a bit concerned that it’s too much exfoliating for everyday use. Plus I’ve heard a lot of bad things about beads in products scratching your face. But…I love how it makes my skin feel so smooth and clean! I’d love to hear your thoughts.

My mom keeps telling me I should be using glycolic products. Maybe she actually knows what she’s talking about! Haha! Great post!
